Sayyid Ibn Tawoos in his book "Mahaj al-Dawaat" quoted from Amir al-Mu'minin peace be upon him: The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, taught me this supplication and commanded me to recite it in any case and for every difficulty and ease, and also to recite it to the successor. I should teach myself and not stop reciting this prayer until I meet the Almighty. And he also said: O Ali, recite this prayer every morning and every evening because it is a treasure among the treasures of the throne of God.
